England footballer visits Clover ward

18th December 2006
Tottenham Hotspur and England footballer, Aaron Lennon paid a visit to the staff and young patients of Clover ward at King George Hospital on Monday 18th December.
The 19 year old midfielder spent two hours talking to the youngsters and signing photos and England caps.
Head Nurse Caroline Moore said: ‘Aaron’s visit has been a real morale boost for the staff and children on the ward, a lovely surprise and just before Christmas too!’
The visit was arranged by Trust Play Specialists Viv Barker and Elaine Lawrence and the England squad sponsors Nationwide Building Society.
Elaine said: “It was lovely to see the look on the children’s faces when Aaron walked into the ward. He spent some considerable time with our patients. We were able to invite some of our long term patients back to the ward to meet him and get his autograph, it was a lovely afternoon.”
