Information for GP and Health Professionals
Please refer women as early in their pregnancy as possible
so they can benefit from our antenatal care.
We operate
a referral system, but are also happy to accept women where they
have accessed a midwife directly. Once the referral has been received,
we register the woman’s
details on our patient administration system. We will contact the woman
by telephone to arrange their appointment to see a midwife for their
booking appointment
and their hospital scan appointment.
To ensure that we receive the appropriate information in order to process a referral promptly we have a downloadable referral form.
The woman will be called to make an appointment to see the midwife for her booking and be given a scan appointment.
Please note that illegible writing and poor quality information may delay the referral.
The second document outlines what a woman can expect from our service initially. Please give the woman a copy of this when you make the referral.
