Parking at Queen's

We have limited parking available on site and we encourage people to travel to the hospital by public transport wherever possible. We charge the following amounts for parking and we operate a pay on exit scheme:
Up to 1 hour £1.20
1 to 2 hours £2.40
2 to 3 hours £3.60
3 to 6 hours £4.80
6 to 9 hours £8.00
9 to 12 hours £12.00
Over 12 hours £18.00

There is a charge of £15 for lost tickets.

Patient and visitor parking areas are on the ground and first floor of the multi-storey car park and in the surface level car park to the front of the building.

There are drop off bays for the nursery, maternity, A&E and a dedicated car park for cancer patients.
Ticket machines are located in each car park with a prominent sign showing operating instructions, tariffs and enforcement rules. Tariffs apply every day of the week.

Please park considerately. People parking in disabled bays or on yellow lines without displaying a valid disabled badge will be ticketed, as will people parking in drop-off bays or outside marked bays. Fines of £75 will be applied and are administered by a separate company: we are sorry but hospital staff cannot respond to enquiries about parking tickets.

Disabled blue badge holders
may park for free on the surface level car park outside the main entrance when displaying their permit, but must pay to park in the multi-storey car park.
There are 74 free of charge disabled parking spaces (outside of the barrier control) and 12 chargeable disabled parking spaces (within the barrier control).

The Matron or Senior Sister will then advise - from a medical point of view - if the concession should be extended.

The next of kin called in an emergency where the death of a patient is expected shall be free of charge.

This applies only when the women are in established labour and giving birth. Partners will need to get their tickets validated before the woman is transferred to the post natal ward, after which normal parking charges will apply.

Oncology / Haematology department (Cancer Services ) as follows:
- Relatives of patients who are on the Liverpool Care Pathway or End of Life care.
- Relatives of patients who are dying.
- Relatives of patients with a diagnosis of AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia).

Patients receiving active treatment in oncology or haemotology, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, can have the cost of their parking reimbursed in the dedicated cancer car park. Other patients / visitors / relatives may be covered by concession parking. All enquires should be made to the Matron or Senior Sister who will then advise - from a medical point of view – on additional parking concessions.

There is also a Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme to help people on low incomes or on certain state benefits, which may reimburse patients’ travel costs to hospital including cost of parking.
More information on the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme is available here.

People parking illegally or blocking access for patients and staff may receive a penalty charge. Please park considerately.
